I have caught myself saying that Parkinson’s is the worst best thing that has ever happened to me. Yes, I would gladly give it back, if I could, but then I would have to give back all of the wonderful people I have met. I would also have to give back all of the life lessons I have learned. I would have to give back this deep appreciation for each day of the rest of my life I have been given. I don’t have a choice but to keep you, Parkinson’s. I do have the choice to wake up and say “it’s a beautiful day!” Bring it on!

Lisa, your courage gives me hope. I awaken each day and say “Lord what does this one hold for us”, I also know each day is a journey and we must have broad shoulders to handle whatever is thrown at us. Cancer or Parkinson’s. Both not pretty! But thanks for all your encouragement– you’ll never know how much I often need it. I call our plight The Journey! with God’s hand. Jan

Jan, Funny! Your family gives me hope! I keep reminding myself that we are not promised a pain- free life, but I am finding it true that God can use that pain in ways that are surprisingly fulfilling and give life purpose. The one thing is for sure. Our family has a bond and we will not go through hard times or good times alone! Love you and your whole family. Gary is always in my prayers!
